What landlords and agents check
Oven
The oven is the single biggest problem area in most check-out inspections. Grease, burnt-on food and discoloured racks are easy for a landlord to photograph and use as evidence of neglect. We strip ovens down and clean everything including the racks, door glass and seal.
Bathroom
Bathrooms come second. Limescale on tiles, shower screens and taps builds up over months and is difficult to remove without the right products. Grout between tiles discolours and looks worse than it actually is. We deal with all of it.
The details tenants miss
Skirting boards collect dust and scuff marks. Light switches pick up fingerprints and grime. Door frames get marked, especially around handles. Window sills gather dead insects and dust. None of these are hard to clean, but landlords check every one of them.
Floors
Carpets should be vacuumed right to the edges, and hard floors need mopping. If the carpets are stained, that is a separate issue from cleaning, but we will tell you what we think when we see the property.
Deposit protection and what it means
In England, your landlord is legally required to protect your deposit using one of three government-backed schemes: TDS, DPS, or MyDeposits. If your landlord tries to deduct money for cleaning, these schemes provide a free dispute resolution service.
Having a receipt from a professional cleaning company strengthens your position if a dispute goes to adjudication. It shows the property was cleaned to a professional standard before you handed back the keys.

How to prepare
STEP 01
Empty all cupboards and remove food from the kitchen, fridge and freezer before we arrive.
STEP 02
Strip the beds and remove all personal items from every room. We clean the property, not around your belongings.
STEP 03
Flag the check-in report. If your landlord noted specific issues, let us know so we pay extra attention to those areas.
STEP 04
Book close to your check-out date. The day before is ideal — this prevents dust re-accumulating before the inspection.
